Kids Circus

What do I do at the circus?

Sessions will normally involve running games, a warm up and then group balances. Then participants work with whatever equipment they like for the remainder of the sessions. Unicycling, juggling, hoops, diablo, devil sticks, cigar boxes, balancing chair, rings, etc., Stilts, aerial ring, tissue, rope, aerial ladder and trapeze are also available for suitable students. The photograph shows Hugo on the tall unicycle.

Who are the Trainers?

John has been teaching and performing circus for the last 15 years. Nina will be directing the show for the thursday group this year. Bryce and Koina bring specialized balances, unicycling, German Wheel and Tissu skills. Other trainers work with the groups when possible.

Will I get to perform?

There will be performances for Carnivale in Wallsend in Aug for kids who have picked up some circus and performing skills. There will be others in the year in the venue. There will be no additional charge for these. Parents will need to supply costumes, but they will not be expensive. Think crazy op shop creations.
