Circus Avalon was established in Tasmania by John Campbell and Debra Rodrigues about 20 years ago. Since then it has changed from a performing adult community group to a training circus for both adults and youth. It has moved from Tasmania to Queensland and it is currently based in Newcastle where it has been run by John for the last seven years.

In its current form, it is an organisation that teaches circus in high and primary schools, for special events and for special groups. It also produces festival shows as well as high quality corporate acts.

Avalon Trainers have taught in over 100 different schools, attended events including the Woodford Festival, the National Folk Festival, the National Circus Festival and many smaller events.
